Event and Historical Information: The BOSTON CITY was a 2711gt, steel-hulled steamship built by Charles Hill & Son, Bristol, for the Bristol City Lines in 1917. Technical specifications are given as screw propulsion powered by a triple expansion engine. The ship was on passage from Bristol to New York when it was torpedoed by the German submarine U91 eleven miles west bearing 0.5 degrees north from St Anne's Head on 2 January 1918.
