Two soakaways (A and B) were excavated, with dimensions of 1.8m x 1.8m x 1.6m. All groundworks were excavated using a mechanical digger with a toothless grading bucket under constant archaeological supervision. When features or deposits of potential archaeological significance were noted, they were closely examined, defined, manually excavated and recorded to appropriate standards. All spoil tips were scanned for unstratified finds. One archaeological feature was partially present within the monitored area. No artefactual evidence was present within this feature. The results of the watching brief have revealed limited archaeological information, especially considering the surrounding historic landscape.
