A planning application had been submitted for the redevelopment of the site, which involved the demolition of the church building to allow the construction of new houses. This survey has been requested by the South Yorkshire Archaeology Service to record the form and appearance of the building, which is one of increasingly few small historic chapels remaining in the area. The survey comprised 35mm monochrome black and white print photography and 35mm colour slide. This report contains a summary of the work undertaken, the photographs taken, photographic registers and a copy of the recording specification. The building is one of only a small number of surviving small, mid-nineteenth century Methodist churches in the area, and retains a number of original external features, although during this survey it was observed that the majority of the original internal features (including the stained glass windows on the first floor) have been removed or replaced during the twentieth century. en
